And one thing we wanted to steer away from is yet more comment about the pandemic – there are scientists far more knowledgeable to talk about it than we are. Whilst it is true that for a while it has changed things for us all, if you think about it there are more things that it hasn’t changed.
We’ve been buying and selling homes here since 2008, starting quite cautiously and in a small way and growing to be one of the most well-known and biggest professional buyers in England. We’ve been helping people out of tricky situations long before latest problem (that we promised not to mention). In fact, we began just after the financial crash hit the property market so we’re used to dealing with problems and trying to get the job done anyway.
And that hasn’t altered.
The reasons for calls, especially during lock down were different yes – but the need was the same – to simply get shot of a property that was sticking on the market. For 12 years we’ve been buying due to probate, job relocation, or just because a home had some issues that couldn’t be sorted out by a ‘standard’ private buyer. We’ve carried on doing that not because of the pandemic but in spite of it. Our phones were manned during the entire lock down and as soon as we were given the ok to re-open, we did, albeit with new PPE in place and as many people as possible working at home.
But we are open. And the phone is ringing. Sellers and buyers want to get the job done so we’re still doing what we do best. Listening to what people need, cutting through problems and buying their property quickly and easily. In fact, because we only need one surveyor to safely visit the property before we complete the purchase, more people than ever seem to love the idea of avoiding the need for lots of strangers tramping through their home.
