If you receive and offer on your property the estate agent is legally bound to submit that to you as soon as possible, be it in writing or by email, but they also do need to back that up in writing as well and at that point, they should disclose to you the name of the potential buyer.
Of course, you do need to know this because if you subsequently dis-instruct the first agent and instruct somebody else, you need to know that the person subsequently buying your property isn’t the same guy that came round with agent number one, and agent number one then tries to obtain a commission fee from you as well.
You could end up paying two commissions, so it’s very important to check with the estate agent the names of anyone who actually made of offer on your property.
